Over the holidays our family took off on a 1600-mile road trip to visit family and explore Northern California. I knew we would have a blast but I was not looking forward to the torturous time in the car. The kids get so restless and grumpy, making all of us miserable. I knew I needed to be prepared with plenty to keep the little ones entertained. That’s why I was so happy to have the opportunity to check out Birdie’s Playhouse Wild World of Wildlife CD. Before the trip I uploaded the songs on to my ipod and kept it in my arsenal of entertainment for the kiddos.

Somewhere in the middle of central California my 3year old and 5 year old started to lose it. Whining and complaining was hitting a peak and it was about to get ugly in that car! So I popped on Birdie’s Wildlife CD. I had to laugh as both boys froze in their seats. After a few seconds of silence and wide eyes I could see them starting to wiggle to the beat. Yay! Soon they were rockin out and signing along. I had to laugh when even the “too cool for kid music” 9yo and 12yo were nodding their heads to the beat.

The boys love listening to Birdie’s Playhouse. It is now a staple in our house. I pull it up on itunes and the boys dance and sing all around the house. Its so fun to see them rocking to the Latin beat and belting out the words.

Birdies Playhouse’s Wild World of Wildlife CD is a fun and interactive CD that you can’t help but dance to. It is definitely a perfect fit for kiddos! Birdie’s Playhouse gets kids ages 0 to 5 to shake their tail feathers! Their award-winning, upbeat music is all about wildlife — with a Latin twist. Wildlife has won two national awards: a Gold award from the National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA) and a Spring 2010 Parents Choice Award! I have to agree with the awards – this CD is a blast to listen to.

The CD has 12 songs in all, each focused around a different animal(s). My 5yo loves the song “Oh When the Ants” the best since he loves to be able to repeat phrases. He loves acting like each animal as they come up in the song. My 3yo is all about the song “Shake Your Tail Feather”. He has a blast dancing around and then freezing. He gets way into shaking his hips. I think all the songs are great at getting the kids involved and moving. You gotta love it!

I definitely recommend this CD to any parents or grandparents of kids 0-5. Head on over to Birdie’s Playhouse to get the CD or download the songs.
